The Heidegger Circle is pleased to announce a new annual award recognizing outstanding work by emerging scholars on Heidegger and questions of women, sex, and/or gender.

The Dana Belu Junior Scholar Award for Scholarship on Heidegger, Women, Sex, and Gender

Established in 2026 through the generosity of Dana S. Belu, this award carries a first prize of $500 and a second prize of $250. Winners are recognized in the conference program and present their papers at the annual meeting.

The award is open to graduate students at any stage of their studies, including master’s students, and to recent PhDs within three years of the degree.

Papers of approximately 4,000 words should engage any themes related to women, sex, and/or gender in connection with Heidegger’s thought. Submissions are made through the regular Heidegger Circle Annual Meeting call for papers — simply indicate that you wish your paper to be considered for the award.

Deadline: January 15, 2027 (with the general conference deadline).
